Annual Recognition Banquet

The annual recognition banquet is held every year in February. The banquet showcases the wonderful accomplishments of our members as well as predominant alumni who have supported the club for numerous years.

Dairy Judging Teams

2015 Senior Dairy Judging TeamA select few of our members are fortunate to participate in dairy judging contests nationwide. The University of Minnesota has been successful in both its junior and senior dairy judging teams throughout the years.


Dairy Challenge

Members of the Gopher Dairy Club often participate in the North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge. The Dairy Challenge is used to facilitate education, communication and an exchange of ideas among students, agribusiness, dairy producers and universities that enhances the development of the dairy industry and its leaders.


Gopher Dairy Bar

2015 Gopher Dairy BarThe Gopher Dairy Bar operates at the Minnesota State Fair. The profit from sales of milkshakes and milk results in the Gopher Dairy Club having the largest budget of any student organization on the Twin Cities campus, and permits members to travel free of charge to numerous dairy events around the country.


Gopher Dairy Camp

Gopher Dairy Camp is a fun 3-day workshop for teens wanting to improve their dairy cattle skills. The camp is open to all youth who have completed grades 6-11 but have not yet started 12th grade. Activities include Dairy Fitting and Showmanship Workshops, Dairy Showmanship Contest, the Gopher Gold Auction, Dairy Foods Workshop, fun at a waterpark, and an awards banquet.


Gopher Dairy Club Alumni Reunion at World Dairy Expo

Annie Culbertson at Midwest Dairy Expo 2015The alumni reunion is a chance for current members to meet with past alumni and discuss what they have been doing since their involvement in the Gopher Dairy Club. The alumni reunion works as a great networking evening between industry professionals and students.


Midwest Regional ADSA

Club members have the opportunity to participate in the Midwest Regional ADSA which provides a channel of communication among the various member chapters, to acquaint students with ADSA, its scope, purpose and program, and to develop leadership and promote scholastic achievement among students interested in the dairy industry.


National ADSA

Five club members get the opportunity to travel to National ADSA which takes place in July. The American Dairy Science Association provides leadership in scientific and technical support to improve and grow the global dairy industry through generation, dissemination, and exchange of information and services.


National 4-H Dairy Conference

About 200 youth from 4-H dairy projects around the U.S. and Canada congregate in Madison, WI, for the National 4-H Dairy Conference held annually in conjunction with World Dairy Expo. Participants learn about production, processing, marketing and use of dairy products, and develop a broader understanding of careers available in dairy production, biotechnology, genetics, marketing and other selected areas. The conference consists of participatory workshops on the University of Wisconsin campus, speakers, tours and visiting the World Dairy Expo.


Senior Trip to California

2016 Senior Trip - Golden GateBridgeEach year the Gopher Dairy Club seniors take a trip to California where they learn more about the dairy industry. Seniors visit several dairy farms, examine feedstuffs, tour Alcatraz, and visit various other places.


Networking Evening

The Networking Evening allows students to network with industry professionals and includes a formal dinner. Presentations are given by club members about past internships and how to connect with employers in the industry.
